Happy Happy Happy New Years!

Today is the day I start a new journey with my new word for 2015

Words
I'm beginning my walk with choosing my words with purpose, with the goal of leaving people better off then when I found them.
The exciting part is seeing where the journey goes from there.

Proverbs 10:19  In a multitude of words transgression is not lacking, but he who restrains his lips is prudent.

One Word 365 * 2014

As 2014 is coming to and end I wanted to put some of my thoughts into words.
I have loved my word "SHINE" and have tried to grasp at it everyday this year.
My hope is that I've shined into the lives of not only the people who are around me every day, but also the strangers who have passed by me.
Some of my new habits include:
Smiling even when I don't feel like it.
Eye contact with strangers, along with a smile.
Greeting people who pass within 5 feet of me.
Arising everyday with the anticipation of God's light shinning on me and through me.

I will miss my word, but I hope it's ingrained in me so deeply that I will continue to SHINE everyday for the rest of my life!

Coloring With Jesus

My new hobby is coloring with Jesus, or Bible Art Journaling as some people call it.
Often I feel like my "art" work is lacking in flair. None of that matters when I realize that I'm thinking on the Word all the time, thinking about the next verse, what part of that verse is speaking loud to me and how to express it. I love the new way of spending time in His Word.... flair or no flair.

James 1:2-3

{SHINE}... It's my One Word 365 for 2014.

This is my first year of one Little Word-ing and on day 21 I'm feeling really good about it. The more I study the word SHINE and learn about it, and the more I try to SHINE in my day to day life the more I love my word.
This is a dark world we live in. The glory of the Lord is my light, and as it rises on me (as promised in the Bible) I want it to reflect and SHINE off of me into the world.

Some days I don't always feel shiny. My health issues can make me feel so dull. But I want to SHINE, and I choose to SHINE everyday! When my feet hit the ground in the morning my prayer is that God will let His glory be seen SHINING on me.

PS... I've had this blog for years, but have never been a faithful blogger. My hope for 2014 is to make it a somewhat public journal of my One Word 365. If you stumble on it please leave me a message.

Snow Day!

We have a wonderful snow storm moving through. It's been snowing off and on for 4 days now. Last night we got dumped on, add in the wind and it's very cold and wintery outside. Raleigh just LOVES the snow, and it's hard for me to even get him to come in.
But when he does he's snow packed and icy.... and I bundle him up and get him warm.

Child Labor

Child labor doesn't have to end once your child is grown.......
Lauren came home for the weekend, and I promptly put her to work.
She's still nimble and able to balance,
which is what it takes to clean above the kitchen cabinets.

Thanks Lauren..... my dust bunny hero!

Pure Joy

Raleigh finally had his day in the sun!
The campground in Bayfeild, CO has lots of open spaces...
just perfect for a run with your girlfriend.
Kodi has been the love of Raleigh's life since he first laid eyes on her. But they are always on leashes and under the watchful eyes of their people when they meet so they have never had the chance to do much more then sniff each other.... until this weekend.
In a field of sweet grass and dappled sunlight they have finally had the chance to run and play and experience the pure joy that is being a dog.

The Naked Poodle

OOPS.... is really all I can say after yesterdays clipper mishap.
Raleigh got a bath in the early afternoon so we could give him a long needed shave when he dried in the late afternoon.
It started out as good as it can when shaving a poodles face and feet. I use a 15 blade to do this (keep in mind the higher the number the shorter the cut).
Then it was time to do the rest of his body, which I do about once every 5 to 6 weeks, while his face and feet get done once every 2 to 3 weeks.
I loaded the clippers with what I thought was the #5 blade, BUT it was the #10. I went from the back of his neck to the base of his tail before I noticed something didn't seem right. My assistant Savanna figured out I had the wrong blade, but by then it was too late. So away we clipped. Now poor Raleigh is naked... but he wont need a full body clip for a long time!

Girls weekend in Sedona

Labor Day Weekend I went to Sedona, AZ for Stamp Camp. It's a yearly pilgrimage I make with my girlfriends, some of us are here in New Mexico, the rest come from AZ, NV and KS. We always have such a fun time crafting, laughing, and making memories together. Below are a few pictures of the fun.
Activity break with Wii, just dance.
